Planned, not open yet

A cleaning training centre for Malawi

What we intend to build, and what it is not yet.

A training centre is the plan, not yet the place

We intend to open a cleaning training centre in Malawi. It does not exist yet. Nobody has been trained there, and nothing on this page should be read as a course you can enrol on today.

We are publishing the plan because we would rather be held to a dated intention than describe something that is not there.

Why a training centre and not just more staff

There is no shortage of people willing to clean in Malawi. There is a shortage of people taught how, and no local route to learn it properly.

Of the cleaning companies on the national supplier register, not one signals training or method in what it offers. That gap is the reason this business can exist, and closing it for our own staff first is the only honest order to do it in.

What it would teach

The material on this site, taught properly and assessed: the three levels of clean, contact time, dilution, colour coding, work order, high-touch surfaces, safe chemical handling, and working safely in someone else's building.

Then the Malawian part that no imported handbook covers: cleaning when the water is off and the power is out.

On standards, plainly

Our training is structured around BICSc methodology. We are not a BICSc-accredited centre, we do not issue BICSc qualifications, and nobody here holds a BICSc credential.

We say this in full because the alternative, letting the word sit there and be assumed, is the kind of borrowed credibility we refuse to trade on.
